Welcome to the site of the Lancashire Athletic Association

The Lancashire Athletic Association is the official body charged with managing County competitions in the various athletic disciplines and the Association selects teams to represent the County at Inter County events in Cross-Country, Track and Field, Fell and Road Running.

The Association is managed by a committee which is elected annually by the affiliated athletic clubs of Lancashire

Lancashire 10 mile Championship

Lancashire Track and Field Championships 10th/11th May 2025 at Stanley Park Blackpool.

Entries are now closed except for the Steeplechase (which closes on 30th April).No late entries accepted. Definitely no entries on the day except for the 5K (See below).

Just to remind Athletes- they must register at least 60 minutes prior to their events. Separate registration is required on each day.

The 5k (seniors only) can be pre-entered but entries on the day will also be allowed for this event. Entries must be made at least 45mins before the event.The on-the-day fee is £10.

New Lancashire Event-Open Track Relays

This new event will be held at Lancaster (Salt Ayre track) on Tuesday 3rd June 2025 starting at 6pm. The closing date for entries is 11th May 2025. No late entries. Entries can only be made on line via the link below. £20 per team. Timetable will be available here the week before the event.

Lancashire Fell Championship 2025 and Inter-Counties selection

The  Senior and Junior Fell Championships will be held in conjunction with the Pendle race on Saturday 5th April.

Northern Inter-Counties Track and Field Championships - U15/U17 Lancashire Team Selection

Monday 26th May 2025 – York

Following the completion of the Lancashire Track and Field Championship, selection of the 2024 team will take place.

Only the 1st place finishers in the County Event will automatically be selected (against events listed for Northern Inter-Counties), except for the High Jump and Pole Vault. Please note – If an athlete has finished 1st in multiple events, selection will be reviewed against the timetable and adjustments to selection will take place. A second athlete and reserve athlete will be selected by the Team Manager; Selection emails will be sent, and confirmation of attendance is required within 5 days. If no confirmation is received, the athlete will be removed from the team. Notice of selection emails being sent will be posted on Facebook, Instagram, and the County Website. We only have a short time from the end of the Championships to the upload of the team for the Inter-Counties, 2 weeks later.

It is the intention to provide opportunities for those who run at the championships and have not been selected for individual races, to be selected for the 4 relays available.
